This article is designed to help students who wish to study Electrical / Electronic Engineering Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Technology at Federal Polytechnic, Oko (OKOPOLY).
It is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any courses offered in OKOPOLY to carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.
The polytechnic is situated within Oko town in Orumba North Local Government of Anambra State.
The kernel of what eventually became the polytechnic was the brainchild of the Oko Progressive Union (OPU), greatly catalysed by the patronage, resourcefulness and result-oriented leadership of its pioneer chairman, a former Executive Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr Alex Ekwueme.
The institution is strategically located and surrounded by several centres of industries, commerce and diverse local crafts such as Awka (well known for blacksmith/iron works), Nnewi (Industry and technological products) and Onitsha and Aba (reputed for Commerce and Industries).
The climatic condition of the host community ranges between 28 and 42 degrees centigrade.
It is one of Nigeria’s fastest-developing tertiary institutions with a highly futuristic disposition. It has a functional memorandum of understanding with universities within and outside the country. The Polytechnic has three campuses.
- The main campus at Oko occupies a total land area of 89 hectares.
- Ufuma campus: This occupies a total land area of 52 hectares.
- Atani campus: This occupies a total area of 40 hectares.
To study Electrical/Electronic Engineering, candidates must meet the following requirements.

In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Electrical / Electronic Engineering under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment & Technology in the above Universities include;

Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Electrical / Electronic Engineering if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
IMO – POLY and RIVPOLY require a credit pass in English Language.
Giwapoly
Does not insist on credit passes at two sittings.
Mapoly
Accepts a pass in English Language.
Auchipoly
Requires Further Mathematics, Statistics or Economics in the UTME subjects.
Fedpoffa
Accepts English Language Economics, Biology, and Agric Science as the five
credits.
Yabatech
Requires five credits passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry and one from Technical Drawing, Basic Electronics or Further
Mathematics, Agricultural Science, Applied Electricity, Biology. Also requires Mathematics and Physics for UTME.
Ibadan-Poly
Requires credit passes in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English Language for WAEC/NECO/GCE holders and NABTEB certificates.
Polysok
Requires O’Level credit pass in English Language Mathematics, Physics and any one from Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and Technical Drawing.
Igbajo
Requires five credit passes in Mathematics, English Language Physic and any other two subjects from the following basic Electricity Biology, Agric Chemistry and Technical Drawing.
Kad-Poly
Requires Mathematics and any two subjects from Physics, Chemistry/Technical Drawing as UTME subjects.
Kwapoly
Accepts Credit Passes in Alt. to Mechanics, Fine Art, Domestic and Industrial Installation, Cable Joining, Winding of Electrical Machine, Radio Communication, Television, Electronic Devise and Circuit, Mechanical/ Pneumatic Instrument, Electrical/Elect. Instrument, Regulation and Installation, Electric Servicing and Circulation, Radio, Television and Electric Servicing, Direct Current, Alternate Current and Basic Electricity.
Rugipo
Accepts a pass in English Language.
Fedpo-Ila
Requires credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other Science subject as a course requirement.
FEDPO-Nek Same as in Civil Engineering.
Kazaure
Requires credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any two Science subjects.
Fideipoly
Will accept five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and anyone from Technical Drawing, Basic Electronics or Further Mathematics, Agricultural Science, Applied Electricity, and Biology. The credit passes must not be in more than two sittings.
Jamb Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into Federal Polytechnic, Oko for the 2019/2020 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 100 or above in your JAMB result.
