The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Food Science & Technology include Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agric, Science, Physics, Basic Catering and Food Services, Bakery and Confectionaries, Hotel & Catering Crafty course (Cookery), Hotel & Catering Craft Course (Food /Drinks Services) and Basic Electricity.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- Chemistry
- Mathematics/ Physics and Agric Science
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
- FUTMINNA requires Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, and any one of Mathematics or Physics.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Food Science and Technology if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
- Two ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and Biology/Physics/Agric Science/Botany/Zoology.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
- FUTMINNA accepts ND with lower credit/NCE merit in the Agricultural components of choice and a minimum of merit in the other component or an HND with a minimum of lower credit to be admitted into the 300 level.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into FUTMINNA for the 2024/2025 session should know that you must have scored 180 or above in your JAMB result to be eligible for the screening.
