Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), located in Anambra State, has attained notable success in the NUC Accreditation Exercise for the academic year 2024/2025, conducted in November/December 2025.
Demonstrating a commitment to delivering exceptional education, the university has secured “Full Accreditation” status in 20 departments, affirming its dedication to fostering the development of high-caliber professionals.
Accreditation Results and Details
In a memorandum dated March 9th, 2025, dispatched to the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Greg Nwakoby, and officially signed by Architect S.S. Ikani, Deputy Director of Programme Accreditation.
It was communicated on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission that, out of the 21 programs scrutinized in the assessment, 20 have been accorded the esteemed status of “Full Accreditation.”

Although the Medicine and Surgery department received an “Interim status,” the Commission has assured that this will not affect the admission of students into the program within the years under review.
The “interim status” indicates that the Commission will revisit the program in the next two years.
