Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be an international student (citizens of Australia and New Zealand are not eligible).
  • Have completed, or expect to complete, a research-based Master’s degree by 2026.
  • Be applying for a Master of Research, Master of Philosophy (MPhil), or PhD programme.
  • Be available to study full-time.
  • Meet Macquarie University’s admission requirements for higher degree research programmes.
  • Demonstrate previous research experience.
  • Include any published research work as part of the application, where applicable.
  • Have presented research at academic conferences (where applicable).
  • Meet the University’s English language proficiency requirements.
