GWI Scholars Program Details

The GWI Scholars Program provides undergraduate students with structured education and career development designed to prepare them for careers in investment management and related fields.

All admitted Scholars begin with a unified curriculum covering technical and career development skills. The curriculum includes subjects such as Excel, accounting, financial statement analysis, financial modeling, and other investment-related topics.

After completing the unified curriculum, Scholars continue through either the Online Intensive Program (OIP) or Summer Intensive Program (SIP), depending on factors including internship availability, program performance, and other program considerations. Students do not apply directly to the SIP or OIP.

Sophomore applicants can also choose to be considered for the GWI Internship Track. Selected Scholars may be matched with paid internships at GWI Partner firms, although selection for the Internship Track does not guarantee an internship.

Eligibility Requirements for GWI Scholars Program 2027

To be eligible for the 2027 GWI Scholars Program, applicants must:

• Be a first-year or sophomore undergraduate student at the time of application.
• Be enrolled in or transferring to an accredited four-year U.S. or U.S.-style college or university for Fall 2026.
• Have an expected college graduation date between Fall 2028 and Spring 2030.
• Have earned a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be studying any academic major; no finance background is required.
• Demonstrate qualities such as intellectual curiosity, research and analytical skills, strong communication abilities, teamwork, and the ability to receive and apply feedback.
• Students of all gender identities are eligible to apply.
• Citizenship or U.S. permanent residency is not required for the Scholars Program.

Students at Two-Year Colleges

Second-year students currently attending a two-year U.S. college may also apply if they are transferring to a four-year U.S. or U.S.-style institution.

Applicants in this category must provide evidence of their planned transfer, such as a transfer admission or conditional admission letter, confirmation of enrollment in a direct transfer programme, or a detailed transfer application plan.

Travel to and from the programme and internship locations is generally the student’s responsibility, although financial assistance may be available for eligible additional costs.

GWI Scholars Program 2027 Application Deadlines

There are two application deadlines:

• Priority Deadline: September 15, 2026
• Final Deadline: October 15, 2026

Applicants who submit a completed application by the priority deadline can expect to hear back by October 15, while applicants using the final deadline can expect decisions by early December, although timing may vary.

To apply for the GWI Scholars Program:

4. Complete the short-answer questions.
5. Write and submit the required 350–500-word essay.
6. Upload your current résumé.
7. Record and submit the required one-minute video.
8. Upload your required transcript.
9. If you are a sophomore and want to be considered for the Internship Track, provide the details of two references.
10. Review your application carefully and submit it before the September 15 priority deadline or October 15 final deadline.

Applicants do not need to submit standardized test scores, and there is no application fee.
