BL Coptic Fellowship Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must:

• Be citizens of Egypt, Sudan, or Palestine
• Normally reside in one of the eligible countries or another Chevening-eligible country in the Middle East and North Africa region
• Demonstrate a commitment to returning to their country of citizenship after the fellowship
• Return to their home country for at least one year following the completion of the fellowship
• Hold a postgraduate qualification or possess equivalent professional training and experience
• Have at least five years of professional or academic research experience
• Be currently employed or enrolled in a PhD program
• Not be undertaking a PhD at a UK, EU, or USA institution
• Have excellent knowledge of Coptic (Sahidic or Bohairic)
• Possess strong written and spoken English skills
• Demonstrate experience in cataloguing and handling manuscript collections
