Taxation is taught under the Faculty of Social & Management Sciences at Adamawa State University. Mathematics is the only subject required at both the O’Level and UTME stages.
Accounting appears nowhere except at Direct Entry, where it is offered as an alternative to Economics. A candidate from a commercial track gains most from that route.
Confirm that Taxation appears on the current ADSU course list and that your JAMB registration records it correctly before you sit the examination.

JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into ADSU for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
Accounting Counts Only at Direct Entry for ADSU Taxation
The O’Level line names Mathematics, Economics and English Language, then adds three other social science subjects against a stated total of five credits.
Economics is compulsory at that stage. It then drops out of the UTME combination, which names only Mathematics alongside the compulsory English Language.
The two remaining UTME papers may be any other social science subjects, which makes the JAMB stage the most open of the three.
Direct Entry asks for two ‘A’ Level or NCE passes in Accounting or Economics and one other subject. Accounting is recognised here and nowhere else on the page.
A JAMB score of 180 and above is the screening threshold for the 2026/2027 session at ADSU and applies whichever route a candidate uses.
