The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has announced the commencement of a two-week warning strike from Monday, 16th of May 2026.
The official statement was released after an emergency meeting of the Union’s National Executive Council on Wednesday, 11th May.
According to the statement, the Federal Government is yet to meet the union’s demand, and the two weeks warning action is meant to prompt the government to do the needful, after which an indefinite shutdown of polytechnics may be imminent.
