About the Auburn University Scholarship

The Auburn University Native Bee Lab, located within the Auburn University Bee Center, is seeking a motivated master’s student to join a research project focused on pollinator conservation and habitat restoration across the southeastern United States.

The research is funded by the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) and aims to evaluate strategies for establishing and managing native wildflower habitats along roadsides to support native pollinators.

The selected student will investigate how vegetation management practices, including selective herbicide applications and habitat restoration techniques, influence wildflower establishment, plant diversity, and native bee populations. The project will contribute to science-based recommendations for improving roadside biodiversity while maintaining transportation safety and infrastructure.
