About the Harvard Academy Scholars Program

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

• Be citizens of any country.

• Demonstrate strong expertise in foreign languages, international history, or regional and cultural studies.
• Conduct research relevant to the social sciences or law with an international or area studies focus.
• Have completed their PhD after 31 July 2026.
• Be available to attend an in-person interview at Harvard, if shortlisted. Travel and accommodation expenses for finalists will be covered.

Program Conditions

Selected scholars are expected to:

• Reside at Harvard University for the full two-year fellowship.
• Conduct independent, high-quality research.
• Participate actively in the academic activities of the Harvard Academy.
• Comply with all fellowship terms and reporting requirements.
