We are looking for an Assistant to join our Ontario Logistics team. The successful candidate will coordinate and schedule daily deliveries and pick-ups by the Kemira Fleet and our partner carriers and be integral in the inventory management of customer-purchased goods, raw materials, and byproducts generation, as well as other related tasks.
This is a temporary, fixed-contract position for a year that requires some weekend on-call availability. It is based at a Brantford, Ontario, manufacturing plant.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support dispatch with Coordination and scheduling of daily deliveries and pick-ups.
- Work with various terminals, carriers, and other stakeholders to determine the most cost-effective options for serving customers safely.
- Complete customs documents for cross-border shipments.
- Create, update, and close shipping documents and other related administrative tasks.
- Manage customer and terminal inventory levels, forecasting and planning accordingly to keep them within defined thresholds.
- Coordinate rail loading and sufficient car supply – both loaded and empty – to maintain supplier output and customer demand.
- Ensure that Vehicle inspections and PMs are performed as required by local legislation and company policy.

Job Requirements
- We require a high school diploma or equivalency.
- Preferred dispatch experience in a Class-A trucking environment
- Preferred Knowledge of hazardous materials and TDG regulations, as well as Transport Canada and DOT regulations, is an asset.
- Strong computer skills; experience with the Microsoft Office suite and business management systems, preferably SAP.
- Strong communication skills, strong organizational skills, and inventory management skills.
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work independently and make quick, risk-based decisions.
- Experience with liquid bulk, rail logistics, steel mill, and continuous-operations customers is an asset.
