Over the last year, the Flexibility Markets team has procured over 700MW of Flexibility Service, launched our Flexibility Product Roadmap, and gained a new Market Platform (Electron Connect). We are excited to expand our team, and in the role you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting procurement activities in flexibility, e.g., producing publicly facing documentation to enable market participation and activities to engage potential flexibility service providers.
  • Leading stakeholder engagement activities with flexibility service providers and potential providers to increase market liquidity across the flexibility market space.
  • Supporting cost-benefit analysis work that compares flexible services and reinforcements.
  • Collaborating on building the flexibility strategy for the next 5 to 10 years, applying market knowledge to assess the best approaches and how this will impact market liquidity.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • Enthusiasm for learning new skills and concepts and being able to adapt as this changes.
  • Understanding economic principles as a foundation for supporting and understanding market design. Preferably, I have experience operating in the electricity market.
  • Excellent skills and experience in completing data or cost-benefit analyses and reporting these results are essential. Additionally, some background in Python programming would be beneficial.
  • The ability to present complex concepts to different internal and external audiences with various backgrounds and understanding.
  • Experience building relationships with a range of stakeholders and gathering information on various jobs.

Job Perks

Base Location: Flexible UK | We’re proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work; this role is no exception. However, we will need your base ‘home’ location to be one of our SSEN offices or depots around the UK.

Salary: £40,600 – £61,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time, 37 hours | Flexible First options available
