Job Description
The secondary art teacher will be responsible for developing each student’s interest and ability to express creatively visually, using skills and techniques of artistic expression consistent with school guidelines.
Major Duties and Responsibilities

- Data & Assessment: Regularly engages in individual student case management by proactively making data-driven decisions
- Innovation: Develops aesthetic understanding and appreciation; discovers and develops students’ talents in the art field.
- Professional Growth: Committed to continuous growth, actively engages in professional development opportunities, and contributes to our professional learning community
- Community Outreach: Demonstrates commitment to the community by communicating regularly with families and attending key community events
- Art Background and Curriculum: Maintains an organized system for art supply storage, provides a curriculum that supports critical thinking and problem-solving, knows a variety of art mediums, and has ceramic knowledge.
- Teach knowledge and skills in art, including drawing, painting, lettering, and art history.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in art or a similar subject is required.
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferred Current California Teaching Credential, required.
- Classroom teaching experience is preferred.
