    OAU Department of Fine Arts Admission Requirement 2025/2026

    This article is designed to help students who wish to study Fine Arts under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment, and Technology at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).

    OAU

    It is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered in to carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.

    Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), formerly known as the University of Ife, is a federal government-owned and operated Nigerian university. The university is in the ancient city of Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria.

    Obafemi Awolowo University offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in fields of specialization spanning the humanities, the arts, the natural sciences, the social sciences, the medical sciences, engineering, and technology.

    The university has 13 faculties and two colleges the Postgraduate College and the College of Health Sciences — administered in more than 60 departments. It was previously associated with Loma Linda University in California, USA.

    O’Level Subject Combination

    The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Fine Art; You require;

    Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Fine Art, Mathematics, and Chemistry. Spinning; Weaving; Surface Design and Printing; Bleaching, Dyeing, and Finishing; Ceramics; Graphic Design; Graphic Printing; Decorative Painting, Spray Painting, Lining, Sign & Design, Wall Hanging, Colour Mixing/Matching and Glazing, Building/Engineering Drawing, General Wood Work.

    Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks

    • OAU accepts ‘O’ level courses should include English Language, Fine Arts, and any three (3) of History, ReligiousKnowledge, Igbo, Yoruba, Literature in English, Music, French, and Economics.
    • OAU requires Fine Arts and two (2) other subjects. The two (2) subjects are to be chosen from options in UTME requirements.

    OAU requires

    • candidates are to submit portfolios of their work to HOD Fine Arts.
    • accepts HND upper credit to the higher levels of the course.
    • two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Fine Arts and one other subject. The other subject must be from History, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Music, and Literature in English or French

    JAMB Subject Combination

    In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Fine Art under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment & Technology in the above Universities include;

    Chemistry, Mathematics, and Fine Arts/Physics

    Direct Entry Requirement

    These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Fine Art if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;

    • ‘A’ level passes in Two of Fine Arts, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.
    • ND in Industrial Design Glass Technology or Fine Art at Credit

    JAMB Score

    All candidates interested in getting admitted into OAU for the 2025/2026 session, should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 200  or above in your JAMB result.
