The Rhodes Scholarships are now truly international since two new Global Scholarships now accept applications from qualified applicants around the globe (upon nomination).

The Rhodes Global Scholarship program seeks exceptional young leaders eager to tackle global issues and advance worldwide peace and understanding.

    Host Institution(s):

    Oxford University in the UK

    Level/Fields of Study:

Oxford offers various postgrad degrees, such as MBA, MSc, MA, and PhD in Math. Eligibility requirements may vary per program, so research is recommended before applying.

    Number of Scholarships:

    2

    Target group:

Students who are not from existing Rhodes constituencies.

    Scholarship Value/Inclusions/Duration:

All University and College Fees, a Living Stipend of £17,310 per year 2024/2025, Moving Allowance, Health Insurance, a Visa, and Two Economy Class Flights to and from the UK for the Start and End of Studies in Oxford are all covered by the Rhodes Scholarship.

Subject always and always to excellent academic performance and personal conduct, the scholarship’s basic duration is two years.

    Eligibility

    • Nationality/citizenship: You must be qualified to apply through any current Rhodes constituency to apply for the Global Scholarships. Consider inter-jurisdictional consideration as an alternative to the Global Scholarship if you are deeply connected to one or more Rhodes constituencies but must match their qualifying requirements.
    • Age: You must fit one of the requirements listed below:
    • You must be at least 18 years old on October 1, 2025, and you must not be older than 24 (you must have been born after October 1, 1998, and on or before October 1, 2004, for example).
    • OR (for older candidates who completed their first undergraduate degree later than usual)
    • ii. You must not be older than 27 on October 1, 2025, meaning you must have been born after that date. You must also have met or be on track to satisfy the academic criteria for obtaining your first undergraduate degree on or after October 1, 2021.
    • Academic achievement: You should have already completed, or will have completed by July 2025, an undergraduate degree (often a Bachelor’s degree), and your academic background and grade must meet or surpass the exact entry requirements of the full-time course you have chosen at the University of Oxford.
    • Candidates will have a better chance of being admitted to Oxford if they hold a First Class Honours Degree or the equivalent, or a GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher, due to the extremely fierce worldwide competition for spots at the University of Oxford.
    • English language: To meet the University of Oxford’s English language proficiency criteria (at the Higher Level mentioned), you must have a sufficiently high level of English.
    • Suppose you are unsuccessful in your initial application for a Rhodes Scholarship. In that case, you may only reapply once (and it must be in the same constituency), provided you still match the eligibility requirements.

    Application Instructions:

On June 1, applications will be accepted.

Your university must nominate you first to submit your application for the global scholarship. You need a letter of nomination from your university to apply for the Global Scholarship.

Please be aware that you cannot nominate yourself. You must use the application to register the information of a qualified nominee.
