This is to inform the general public and all Rivers State University (RSU) aspirants that the Department of Land Survey Admission requirements has been published.
The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Land Survey include Fi+ve (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry and any one subject from below:
- Fine Art
- Geography or Wood Work
- Biology
- Economics
- Technical Drawing
- Further. Mathematics
- Introduction to Building Construction
- Bricklaying/Block laying
- Concreting, Wall, Floors, and Ceiling Finishing
- Joinery
- Carpentary
- Decorative Painting
- Lining, Sign & Design
- Wall Hanging
- Colour Mixing/Matching & Glazing
- Ceramics
- Graphics Design
- Graphic Printing
- Basic Electricity
Special Requirement (Waiver) Remarks
- RSUST requires five O’ level credits pass, including Physics, English Language, and Mathematics, and any two (2) subjects from Geography, Technical Drawing, Fine Arts, Chemistry, Building Construction, and Economics obtained in not more than two sittings
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- Physics
- Mathematics and any one subject from below:
- Chemistry
- Geography
- Art
- Biology
- Economics
Special Requirement (Waiver) Remarks
- RSUST requires Mathematics, Physics, and any other subjects from Chemistry, Technical Drawing, Geography, Economics, Fine Arts, and Building Construction
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Land Survey if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
- Two ‘A’ level passes from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, Geography or Fine Arts.
- ND/HND upper credits in relevant field.
Special Requirement (Waiver) Remarks
- RSUST accepts ND/HND (upper credit) in relevant fields into 200 and 300 level, respectively, plus UTME requirements. RSUST requires A’ level passes in Mathematics and Physics, and any other three subjects from English Language, Building Construction, Fine Arts, Technical Drawing, and Chemistry may be admitted into the 200 level.
