Many students struggle to calculate their aggregate score and cut-off mark because it varies by institution. Here’s exactly how Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) works it out, with a correctly worked example.
What Is Post-UTME Score?
After every UTME exercise, JAMB sets a national benchmark score candidates must meet to be eligible for a school’s Post-UTME. TASUED then fixes its own cut-off, which can’t be lower than JAMB’s benchmark. A candidate who clears JAMB’s benchmark but falls short of TASUED’s own cut-off won’t be invited to TASUED’s Post-UTME, and that cut-off mark is what’s referred to as the school’s cut-off mark.

How to Calculate TASUED Aggregate Score
TASUED’s JAMB examination is marked out of 400, while its Post-UTME screening is marked out of 100. The formula is a 50:50 split between the two, using only your JAMB and Post-UTME scores (TASUED doesn’t factor O’Level grades directly into the aggregate calculation):
- Divide your JAMB score by 8.
- Divide your Post-UTME score by 2.
- Add the two results together to get your aggregate score.
Say a candidate scored 265 in JAMB and 64 in TASUED’s Post-UTME:
265 ÷ 8 = 33.13
64 ÷ 2 = 32
33.13 + 32 = 65.13
That candidate’s aggregate score would be approximately 65.13 out of a possible 100.
