Tennessee Tech University Scholarship Details

The Tennessee Tech University Graduate Assistantship provides students with the opportunity to conduct research on how wintering waterfowl respond to unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) across wetlands in the Arkansas Delta.

The research project offers practical training in wildlife ecology, waterfowl conservation, drone technology, quantitative ecology, image analysis, and collaborative scientific research.

The project is a partnership between Tennessee Technological University, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC), Clemson University’s James C. Kennedy Waterfowl and Wetlands Conservation Center, and the University of Missouri. Students will be co-supervised by Dr. Allison Keever and Dr. Bradley Cohen.

    • Or a closely related field before enrolment.
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in wildlife ecology, waterfowl conservation, or UAS applications in wildlife research.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Previous field research experience.
  • Experience using GIS.
  • Knowledge of R programming.
  • Experience operating drones (UAS).
  • Background in quantitative ecology.
