The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.

O’level Subject Combinations
Candidates wishing to study French at the University Of Ibadan (UI) must possess Five O’ level credits at ONE sitting or 6 ‘O’ level credits at TWO sittings, including Literature in English and any other subject from Arts and Social Science subjects.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB.
Language, two Arts subjects, including Literature in English and any other Arts or Social Science subject.
UI JAMB Cut-Off Mark
Generally, For any candidate to be admitted into the University Of Ibadan (UI) for any course at all, the candidate must score 200 and above in jamb. That is to say that the University Of Ibadan (UI) JAMB Cut-Off mark is 200.
UI Faculty Of European Studies (French) Cut-Off Mark
The UI Department of French Departmental Cut Off Mark is 180. That is to say that Candidates seeking admission into the University Of Ibadan (Should the school authority make any changes to the school UTthe ME Screening exercise.
