This is to inform the general public that the admission requirements for the Department of Mathematics at the University of Calabar have been published.
The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
About The University of Calabar
The University of Calabar is a federal university in Cross River State, Nigeria’s south-south region. In 1975, the university was established.
The university has a large student and staff population and a diverse student body. All applicants to the university are accepted, regardless of their cultural or religious background. Additionally, there is no restriction on applicants’ ages.

O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Mathematics include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- At least three of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Additional/Further Mathematics.
- A trade subject
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
JAMB UTME subject combination to study Mathematics must include the following:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry or Biology
Direct Entry Requirement For Mathematics
Below is the Direct Entry Requirement for Mathematics:
- Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics and any other science subject
- NCE merit in Mathematics and one (1) in Physics, Chemistry, or Economics
JAMB Score
For any candidate to be admitted to any Department in the University of Lagos, the Candidate must score 150 and above in JAMB.
