The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.

O’level Subject Combinations
Candidates wishing to study History at the University Of Ibadan (UI) must possess Five ‘O’ level credits at ONE sitting or 6 ‘O’ level credits at TWO sittings, including English Language, History or Government, and any other subject from Arts and Social Science. The sixth could be a Science subject.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB.
English Language, History and/or Government plus any other two subjects from Arts and Social Sciences.
UI JAMB Cut-Off Mark
Generally, For any candidate to be admitted into the University Of Ibadan (UI) for any course at all, the candidate must score 200 and above in jamb. That is to say that the University Of Ibadan (UI) JAMB Cut-Off mark is 200
UI Department Of History Departmental Cut-Off Mark
The UI Department of History Departmental Cut Off Mark is 200. That is to say that, Candidates who seek admission to the University Of Ibadan (UI) Department of History must score 200 and above in the school UTME Screening exercise.
