About the University of Saskatchewan Graduate Scholarship
The University of Saskatchewan is offering a fully funded PhD studentship under the supervision of Dr. Mitch Weegman in the Department of Biology.
The successful candidate will lead a research project on the population ecology of Greenland white-fronted geese, using over 40 years of ecological data to investigate productivity on breeding grounds and population structure.
The project utilizes data collected from:
- Thousands of neck-collared geese
- Hundreds of GPS-tagged birds
- Four decades of ecological monitoring
This research is part of an international collaboration involving:
- National Parks and Wildlife Service (Ireland)
- Aarhus University (Denmark)
- University of Saskatchewan (Canada)
Beyond the primary project, the selected student will have opportunities to collaborate on additional studies related to population ecology and animal movement.

Eligibility Criteria
