About the Work-Study Program
The University of Manitoba Work-Study Program is coordinated by the Financial Aid and Awards Office in partnership with Career Services.
The programme provides eligible students with paid, part-time employment on campus during the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 academic terms.
Work-study positions allow students to build professional skills, gain practical experience related to their field of study, and earn income to help cover educational expenses.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Provide proof of a 2026β2027 government student aid package valued at at least CAD $2,000, or provide proof of:
- Indigenous band sponsorship.
- MΓ©tis Nation post-secondary funding.
- Disability funding.
- Be registered as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at the University of Manitoba during both:
- Fall 2026.
- Winter 2027.
- Undergraduate students must maintain at least a 60% course load (minimum of 9 credit hours per term).
- Have a minimum 2.0 institutional GPA from the previous academic session (not required for new University of Manitoba students).
- Reside in Manitoba throughout the work-study employment period.
- International students are eligible only if they can provide proof of a government student loan or financial aid package from their home country for the 2026β2027 academic year.
How to Apply
To apply for the Work-Study Program:
- Register for or log in to your UMConnect account.
- Navigate to Work-Study and select Work-Study Program Application.
- Complete and submit the Work-Study application form.
- After submission, click Accept under Action Required by You to gain access to available job postings.
- Attend the mandatory Work-Study orientation session if you are a new participant.
- Apply for suitable Work-Study positions by submitting tailored rΓ©sumΓ©s and cover letters.
- Complete all application requirements before September 11, 2026.
