About Federal Government Scholarship

Nigeria’s interested and qualified citizens are invited to attend the 2024/2025 Nomination Interview for Bilateral Education Agreement (B.E.A.) Scholarship Awards for the following:

  • Undergraduate level – Sports, Geology, Engineering, Agriculture, Mathematics, Sciences, Languages, Environmental Sciences, Medicine (very limited), Law, Social Sciences, Biotechnology, Architecture, etc.
  • Postgraduate level (PhD and Master’s Degree) in all fields.

Scholarship Type: The Awards are for Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (P.G.) studies.

Duration: Offered annually

Eligible Countries: Nigeria

Number of Scholarships: Various

To be Taken at:

i) Undergraduate (UG) studies viable in Morocco, Russia, Hungary, and Egypt;
ii) Postgraduate (P.G.) studies tenable in China, Russia (for individuals who received their first degrees from Russia), Hungary, Romania, and Serbia.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Undergraduate Scholarships: All applicants must have a minimum of five (5) Distinctions (As and Bs) in undergraduate degree programs in the WASSCE/WAEC (May/June) exclusively in the subjects pertinent to their fields of study, including Mathematics and English Language. For non-African countries, certificates should not be older than two (2) years (2021 & 2022); for African nations, the certificate’s maximum age is one (1) year (2020). The age range is between 17 and 20.
  • Postgraduate Scholarships: To be considered for postgraduate degree programs, all applicants must have a first degree with a 1st class or at least a 2nd class upper division. Previous recipients of foreign awards who are applying must have worked in Nigeria for at least two (2) years after receiving their awards. The N.Y.S.C. Programme must have been completed by all applicants, and the maximum age for Masters and PhD programs is 35 and 40, respectively.
    • N.Y.S.C. exemption or discharge certificates only are accepted
    • Proof of your ready for release by your employer.

  • Data page of contemporary International Passport
  • Designated medical reports from Government hospitals
  • National Identification Number (NIN)
