This article is designed to help students who wish to study Industrial Design under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment & Technology at Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola.
It is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered in Mautech to carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.
Industrial Design sits in the engineering faculty here, and the requirements reflect that. The page below sets out the WAEC or NECO combination, the JAMB UTME papers, the Direct Entry route, and the score needed before screening.

Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Industrial Design if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
Two (2) ‘A’ Level/NCE passes in Fine Arts, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into MAUTECH for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
Where Fine Arts Enters MAUTECH Industrial Design
Despite the course title, no art subject appears at O’level or UTME. The five SSCE credits are Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry and any science subject, and the JAMB papers are Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics beside English Language.
Fine Arts shows up only at Direct Entry, where it is listed alongside Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics as a subject the two A’level or NCE passes can be drawn from.
That makes Direct Entry the one route where a design background counts directly. UTME candidates are assessed as science applicants from start to finish.
The score to clear is a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result for the 2026/2027 session. Check Physics and Chemistry are both among your credits before you register, since neither has an alternative here.
