Job Details

Successful candidates may be hired in one of four (4) intakes per year, which align with the Ontario Police College training dates.

Job Requirements

• Meet the minimum hiring standards
• Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Successfully completed a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Possess a valid full G Ontario Driver’s License or Provincial Equivalent
• Be of good moral character
• Valid PREP certification (physical readiness evaluation for police) is required at the application.
• Adhere to the minimum standard of hearing and vision requirements
• Be able to pass a security clearance and a background investigation, credit and reference check
• Complete Standard First Aid and CPR-C before hire.

In service Training

• Successful candidates will be required to attend the Ontario Police College in Aylmer, Ontario. For more information, check out our website FAQ.
• Candidates must attend the Ottawa Police Professional Development Center pre- and post-OPC.

Hours of Work

• Must be able to work all shifts designated in the hours of work section. The incumbent must work hours commensurate with a 24 / 7 shift schedule to meet the operational requirements of the section between days, afternoons, evenings, and/or nights (including Statutory Holidays).
