The administration of Newgate College of Health Technology, Minna, Niger State, is set to undertake a two-day re-accreditation exercise facilitated by the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria.
Led by Alhaji Salisu Abubakar and comprising Hajia Rakiya Muktar, Alhaji Saleh Katanga, and Mrs. Binta Abdullahi, the accreditation team initiated their visit with a meeting with the College’s management.
Present at the meeting were the Provost, Mrs. Queendaline Opara Iwuala; Dr. John Akiboh, the Registrar; Mrs. Shekwolo Patience, Human Resource Manager; and other management staff members.
The team met with the Head of the Community Health Department, Hajiya Maryam Hassan Abubakar, before embarking on the actual inspection for the re-accreditation exercise.
The inspection commenced with the demonstration laboratory and evaluation of Community Health skills. This was followed by a visit to the Demonstration Clinic, where various units within the facility underwent thorough inspection.
Concluding the activities for the first day, the accreditation team also scrutinized the Library and the Information & Communication Technology Centre.
On the second day, the team is scheduled to visit various healthcare institutions within Minna, where department students are posted for Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES).
The exercise will be finalized with human resource verification of the department and an exit briefing by the re-accreditation team.
