Nasarawa State University to Launch MBBS Program in Upcoming Academic Session

Nasarawa State University, Keffi, intends to commence the MBBS program at the College of Health and Medical Sciences in the upcoming academic session.

This announcement was affirmed during the recent inauguration of the newly completed College of Medical and Health Sciences Complex.

Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed’s Assurance

Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, has conveyed optimism regarding the prompt initiation of the MBBS program.

He stated that, following the completion and furnishing of the College of Medical and Health Sciences Complex, the MBBS program is poised to commence in the upcoming academic session, pending certification from the NUC, MDHC, and JAMB.

Acknowledgment of the Project Contributors


During the handover ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor appreciated TETfund and the project’s contractor, Messers Goldmark, for their excellent work.

Despite the challenges encountered during the contract execution, the project was delivered according to specification.

Remarks from the Contractor


Engr. S.A. Danladi, the Managing Director of Goldmark Construction Services, conveyed appreciation to the University management for granting the opportunity to participate in the developmental endeavors of the institution.

Despite the initially slated completion date of 2022 following the project award in 2021, the project’s delivery was postponed until 2024 owing to the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Handover Ceremony Highlights


The focal aspect of the ceremony centered on the formal presentation of the building keys to the Vice-Chancellor.

Subsequently, attendees participated in a guided tour of the recently completed complex, led by the Acting Director of Physical Planning, Engr. Ahmed Liman.

The realization of the College of Medical and Health Sciences Complex was facilitated through the TETfund Annual Intervention Project 2017–2019.

This initiative represents a noteworthy advancement in Nasarawa State University’s dedication to enhancing health education.
