This article is designed to help students who wish to study Chemical Engineering Technology Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Technology at Federal Polytechnic, Oko (OKOPOLY).

The polytechnic is situated within Oko town in Orumba North Local Government of Anambra State.
The kernel of what eventually became the polytechnic was the brainchild of the Oko Progressive Union (OPU), greatly catalysed by the patronage, resourcefulness and result-oriented leadership of its pioneer chairman, a former Executive Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr Alex Ekwueme.
The institution is strategically located and surrounded by several centres of industries, commerce and diverse local crafts such as Awka (well known for blacksmith/iron works), Nnewi (Industry and technological products) and Onitsha and Aba (reputed for Commerce and Industries).
To study Chemical Engineering Technology, candidates must meet the following requirements.

Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Chemical Engineering Technology if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require

- AUCHI-POLY,
- RUGIPO,
- ILARO-POLY and IDAH-POLY require credit in Chemistry.
Imte
Requires four credits to be at a sitting or 5 at two sittings and offers it as Civil Engineering.
Rivpoly
Requires a credit in English Language.
Mapoly
Requires five credits at not more than two sittings, including credit passes in Chemistry and Physics and at least a pass in English Language.
Ekiti-poly
Accepts credit in Geog. or Economics.
Akanu-poly
Will accept any other subject at credit level from Technical Drawing, Economics, Geography, Basic Electronics/Electricity, Auto mechanics, Metal Work and Wood Work.
Ozoro and Yabatech
Require credit passes in English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics & any other subject.
Offa-poly
Accepts at least a pass in Chemistry.
IBADAN-POLY same as in Electrical/Electronics.
RAMATPOLY same as in Architectural Technology
Pla-poly
Requires O/L paper with credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any subject from Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Sci.
KWARA-POLY accepts Credit passes in Fine Art, Introduction to Building, Bricklaying & Block Laying, Concreting, Walls Floor and Ceiling Finishing, Joinery and Carpentry.
RUGIPO accepts a pass in English Language.
Bauchi-poly
Requires Credit in Math, Physic, and one of T/drawing or Chemistry
U.T.M.E. Subject
Kano-poly
Requires Mathematics, Physics and chemistry
EDE-POLY does not accept Basic electronics/basic electricity, Economics/ Commerce, Woodwork/auto mechanics and Metalwork.
Ilaro-poly
Requires Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or Technical Drawing.
Yabatech
Requires Mathematics, Physics and Technical Drawing or Chemistry
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into Federal Polytechnic, Oko, for the 2025/2026 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 100 or above in your JAMB result.
