O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Agriculture are five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, and any one of Mathematics, Physics, Geography, and Economics.
JAMB Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Agriculture under the Faculty of Agriculture at UNN include;
Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture, and any one of Physics or Mathematics.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Agriculture if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
Two (2) A-level passes in Chemistry and one from Biology/Botany/Zoology/ Agricultural Science, Economics, Physics, Geography, and Geology/Mathematics (Pure & Applied).

Reading the UNN Agriculture Subject Lists Side by Side
At O’Level the fourth named subject can be Mathematics, Physics, Geography or Economics. In UTME the same slot narrows to Physics or Mathematics, so Geography and Economics do not carry across.
Direct Entry widens the list again. Chemistry is fixed, and the second A Level pass can be Biology, Botany, Zoology, Agricultural Science, Economics, Physics, Geography, Geology or Mathematics in its pure and applied forms.
Whichever route you take, the Nsukka screening threshold is the figure to plan around. UTME candidates need a minimum of 200 in JAMB, which is higher than most federal universities ask for this course.
