This is to inform the general public and all Rivers State University (RSU) aspirants that the Department of Animal Science Admission requirements has been published.
The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Animal Science include the following:
- Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Agric Science, and one in Physics, Geography, or Economics.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- Chemistry
- Biology/Agricultural Science
- Mathematics/Physics
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
- RSU requires Agricultural Science or Biology
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Animal Science if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
- Two ‘A’ level passes or equivalent in Chemistry and one in Biology/Botany/Zoology/Agric Science/Geography/Geology/
- Mathematics/ Economics.
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
- RSU requires HSC/GCE A’ level passes in Chemistry and Biology, including English Language, ND/UD (upper credit) in Biology or Agricultural Science for admission to the 200 level, or HND (credit) in Biology or Agricultural Science for admission to 200 or 300 levels respectively in addition to UTME requirement.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into RSU for the 2025/2026 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 180 or above in your JAMB result.
