About the SBW Berlin International Scholarships
SBW Berlin supports academically talented students who demonstrate financial need and a strong commitment to social development.
Recipients study at universities in Berlin or Potsdam while developing projects that create positive social impact in their home countries after graduation. Scholarship support may continue for up to 48 months, depending on the degree program.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be a citizen of a developing country, or belong to one of the eligible residency categories specified by SBW Berlin.
- Be between 18 and 30 years of age.
- Have strong academic performance (approximately equivalent to a German grade of 2.0 or better).
- Demonstrate financial need with evidence of low household income.
- Have no first-degree family members living in Germany.
- Have secured admission, or intend to study, at a university located in Berlin or Potsdam.
- Not be receiving full funding for studies in Germany from another organization or government.
- Be willing to contribute to a non-profit or social development project during or after the scholarship period.
Scholarship Conditions
Scholarship recipients are expected to:
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress.
- Successfully complete required examinations.
- Continue making progress on their approved non-profit project.
- Submit academic records and graduation documents to SBW Berlin after completing their studies.
Failure to meet academic or project requirements may result in the termination of the scholarship.
