Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU) has started selling admission forms for the undergraduate/remedial study programs and IJMBE for the 2025/2026 academic session.
Interested applicants can now purchase the UMYU Remedial/IJMB Admission Application Form online.
The management of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU), Katsina, Basic and Remedial College (SBRS), invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for any of the following programs:
- Remedial Course (Science, Social Sciences, and Arts)
- IJMBE Courses (Science, Social Sciences, and Arts)
UMYU Remedial Entry Requirements
- Applicants applying for remedial courses must have a minimum of three (3) credits in science, arts, and science and, two (2) In the case of (2) times, a relevant pass at ‘O’ level in other subjects offered by the school.
- Agricultural Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Geography and Physics, Arabic, French, Hausa, History, Islamic Studies and English Literature, Accounting, Civics, Commerce, Economics, and Government.
- General Subjects: English Language and Mathematics
- Remedial Courses Applicants must register and pass the WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or NBAIS examinations at the credit level of their deficient subjects.
- Applicants applying for remedial courses must also register for the Unified Tertiary Entrance Examination (UTME) with a University-approved minimum passing score and select Umaru Musa Yar’adua University as the first choice.
The duration of the program is one year.
UMYU IJMB Entry Requirements
Applicants applying to the IJMBE program must have completed a minimum of five (5) credits at ‘O’ level in three (3) core subjects in science, arts, and social sciences, plus English and Mathematics, if not more than two (2) seats.
A deficit in English is allowed for applicants from Educationally Less Developed Countries (ELDS) of Nigeria.
However, the shortcomings must be corrected before the conclusion of the IJMBE program.
The duration of the course is one year (see annex below)
- IJMBE Scientific subjects: agricultural sciences, biology, chemistry, geography, mathematics, and physics.
- IJMBE Art subjects: Arabic, French, Hausa, history, Islamic studies, and literature English.
- IJMBE Subjects in Social Sciences: Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Geography, Government, and Sociology
All registered IJMBE candidates must also register for JAMB Direct Entry (DE).
The duration of the program is one year.

Interested applicants should follow the procedure below:
- Log in to https://collegeportal.umyu.edu.ng/rem/applicant/index / and create a profile.
- Pay just three thousand naira (N3,000) and get a payment slip. This includes fees for online forms and selections.
- Complete the online application form
