This is to inform the general public and all aspirants of the University of Calabar that the admission requirements for the Department of Computer Science have been published.
The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Computer Science include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Physics plus two (2) other science subjects
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB.
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Physics and any one subject from below:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Agricultural Science
- Economics
- Geography

Below is the Direct Entry Requirement for Computer Science:
- Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in science subjects, including Mathematics.
- NCE merit in Mathematics and one (1) other Science or Social Science subject.
JAMB Score
For any candidate to be admitted to any Department in the University of Calabar, the Candidate must score 150 and above in JAMB.
