This is to inform the general public and all aspirants of the University of Calabar that the admission requirements for the Department of Education & Religious Studies have been published.
The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
About The University of Calabar
The University of Calabar is a federal university in Cross River State, Nigeria’s south-south region. In 1975, the university was established.
The university has a very large student and staff population and a diverse student body. All applicants to the university are accepted, regardless of their cultural or religious background. Additionally, there is no restriction on applicants’ ages.

Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Education & Religious Studies include the following:
- Five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes or TC II merit in five (5) subjects, including English Language, Religious Studies, and three (3) other Arts subjects.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language and two (2) Arts subjects, including Religious Studies, and one (1) other subject.
Direct Entry Requirement For Education & Religious Studies
Below is the Direct Entry Requirement for Education & Religious Studies:
- Two (2) ‘A’ level passes/NCE merit in Religious Studies and one (1) other Arts subject.
JAMB Score
For any candidate to be admitted to any Department in the University of Calabar, the Candidate must score 150 and above in JAMB.
