The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.

Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Special Education include the following:
Five SSCE credit passes, including English Language.
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
UNIJOS requires the following:
- Five ‘O’ level credits, including English Language and Mathematics.
- TC II Merit Pass in English and NCE General English are taken as the equivalent to an ‘O’ level credit in English Language.
- Candidates without a credit in ordinary level Mathematics may be admitted but must either register and pass remedial Mathematics or pass Mathematics at credit level before graduation.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB.
- English Language
- Any three Subjects
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Special Education if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
- Two ‘A’ level passes in Arts or Social Science subjects.
- NCE merit level passes in Arts or Social Science subjects.
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
UNIJOS accepts the following:
- ‘A’ level passes at the principal level, two NCE passes at the merit level, and IJMB passes at the principal level, all in the relevant subjects.
- Candidates must also meet the SSCE requirements.
- UNIJOS accepts NCE General English (Language and Communication skills) as an equivalent of ‘O’ level credit in English Language for Education Courses only.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into UNIJOS for the 2025/2026 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have a minimum score of 180 or above in your JAMB result.
