The B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Computer Science is a four-year program for UTME candidates and a three-year program for direct-entry candidates.
It gives graduates a solid academic foundation to build more advanced degrees (M. Sc., Ph. D.) if desired. It prepares them for successful careers in various occupations as outlined in the Philosophy and Objectives.

UTME Subjects Requirements
a) Credits at the SSCE, GCE, NECO, or authorized equivalent in at least five topics, including English Language and Mathematics, and any additional three subjects the faculty may need.
b) Either the 5 credits or the 6 credits should be earned in no more than two sittings.
English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and other two Science subjects must be included among the five ordinary-level subjects.

Direct Entry
Any one of the following will be accepted in place of the required five (5) O’ level credits in relevant subjects:
1. IJMB
2. Any two ICT Certificate papers (For a list of ICT certification papers, the candidate is to consult the department)
3. G.C.E. Advanced Level in two relevant courses, including but not limited to Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Studies.
4. ND or approved equivalent in the necessary areas at an acceptable credit level with five (5) O’level results
Conclusion
The department gives both theoretical and practical work in the labs and during the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme enough attention.
At the 400 level, students work on independent projects in their areas of expertise.
