About Sokoto State Univeristy

The Sokoto State Univeristy is located in Sokoto State, Nigeria.

It was established in 2009 as part of a motivated effort on the part of the Sokoto State to satisfy the quest of the people of the state for excellence and education.

It began as the Sokoto State Univeristy School of Developmental Studies, which ran a one-year degree program to prepare students for the University.

Admission Requirements for Guidance and Counseling 

WAEC/NECO Subject Combination

The WAEC/NECO subject combination and requirements needed to study Guidance and Counseling is Five (5) SSCE credits in the English Language with an ‘O’ Level pass in Mathematics is required with other Social Science courses.

JAMB Subject Combination

In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course.

Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Guidance and Counseling at SSU, including the English Language and Mathematics, is required with other Social Science courses.

Direct Entry Requirement

These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Guidance and Counseling if you do not intend to use UTME.

You require two (2) ‘A’ Level/NCE passes in the English Language, and Mathematics is required with other Social Science courses.

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted into SSU for the 2024/2025 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.

Conclusion

The university has a very competitive admissions process and does not consider a student’s age, cultural background, or religion when deciding whether to admit them. Thus, a diverse student body is made possible.
