The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.

Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Building include Five SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- Mathematics
- English Language
- Physics
- Chemistry and any one subject from below:
- Geography
- Economics
- Arts and Technical drawing
- For holders of NTC, the other relevant subjects could be Intro. to Building Construction, Bricklaying, Concreting, Walls, Floors and Ceiling Finishing, Building/Engineering Drawing, Joinery, Carpentry, Gas, Steam Work and Bronze Welding, Cold/Hot Water Supply, Sanitation, and Drainage.
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
UNIJOS accepts;
- ‘A’ Level passes and at not more than two (2) sittings in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or both.
- At least two (2) ‘O’ Level credit passes from Building Construction, Land Surveying, Fine Arts, Technical Drawing, Economics, Additional Mathematics, and Geography, including the English Language.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB.
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to the study Building if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
- ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
UNIJOS accepts;
- ND/HND with a GPA below 3.50 in Building or Civil Engineering for the 200 level.
- ND lower credit in Building Engineering and other appropriate programs plus ‘O’ Level credit passes in Mathematics, Physics, and English Language.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into UNIJOS for the 2025/2026 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have a minimum score of 180 or above in your JAMB result.
