The goal of the Graduate Engineering Trainee is to acquire knowledge and hands-on experience while working under the supervision of a manager or supervisor, implementing systems, completing a variety of tasks like helping staff with new projects, managing data, making suggestions on how to do things better, doing research, writing reports, and using tools to optimise the cement production process.

Trainee Graduate Engineers

Location: Okpella, Edo State

Trainee Engineer Responsibilities

• Completing all tasks assigned by the supervisor and offering assistance as needed.
• Observing used methods and strategies and making recommendations for improvement.
• Collecting data and conducting research.
• Visiting field locations to obtain experience in new work fields.
• Fostering professional principles and developing positive connections in close collaboration with the personnel.
• Following all health and safety regulations.
• Attending workshops and meetings.
• Accepting all evaluations conducted during the training.
• Putting together reports and making presentations for staff and other stakeholders.

Key Competencies

• Good knowledge of theoretical principles
• Good knowledge of statistical principles
• High level of proficiency in computer (word, Excel, Microsoft project, PowerPoint etc).
• High level of analytical and reasoning skills
• Have good knowledge of engineering concept
• Good interpretation and interpersonal skills
• Team playing spirit
• Data analysis skill

Educational Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree in the following Engineering discipline:
• Electrical/Electronics, Instrumentation or Automation
• Mechanical
• Chemical
• Process
• Industrial
• Mining
• Production
• Materials
• Minimum of Second Class Upper.
• Not more than three years post NYSC experience
• Not more than 30 years of age at the point of recruitment

Trainee Graduate Operators

Location: Okpella, Edo State

Objectives

Learn/receive training on how to operate the plant’s machinery through the Centre Control Room (CCR), keep an accurate log and records of all information regarding the operation’s status, and maintain superior knowledge of operating conditions to enable monitoring of production progress and for effective coordination with maintenance activities.

BUA Group Graduate Trainee Engineer Responsibilities

• To learn day-to-day activities planning as per section requirements; fulfil LOTOTO and other safety requirements; supervise activities and feedback for work orders.
• Maintain constant contact with field Engineers/Supervisors to provide work direction to ensure equipment, instruments and the process are properly controlled.
• Housekeeping of CCR and maintaining the cleanliness of the control room desk
• Operate, control and adjust the cement production in accordance with operating procedures and approved safety and environment procedures to ensure achievement of targeted production capacity with desired quality.
• Support field operation/plant maintenance on the job directions as required
• Monitoring the operations of raw mill, kiln and cement grinding and their auxiliaries
• Prepare the daily Kiln and Raw Mill activities reports

• Minimum entering age not more than 30 years of age.
