Details | Emory University Full Merit-Based Scholarships

Students who uphold the highest levels of academic and personal excellence and fulfil the semester and annual requirements of their programme (details provided upon acceptance) are eligible to renew their scholarships for a total of eight semesters of undergraduate study during the regular academic year.

Each year, anywhere between 8,000 and 10,000 students apply to be Scholars. 175-200 students are chosen as Scholar Finalists. Finalists must attend a Scholars Finalists Visit hosted on campus in the spring. Finalists are invited to campus without charging the student.

Eligibility Criteria

To be qualified for Emory University Full Merit-Based Scholarships, candidates are expected to meet the following criteria: 

  • Candidates must be either domestic or foreign students.
  • The undergraduate programme is eligible for the award.
  • Candidates must enrol full-time in a degree programme.
  • Candidates must hold a high school certificate or an equivalent.
  • There is no requirement for extra nomination forms, essays, or resources.
  • Nominations from high school counsellors are not required to be considered.
  • Any student may be considered for the scholar programmes, regardless of citizenship.

Application Procedures

How-to-Apply: You must choose one of the three entrance determination plans to be considered for any and all scholar programmes (Early Decision I, Early Decision II, or Regular Decision) by November 15th, along with all necessary application paperwork. (Early Decision I applications must be submitted by November 1st.)

Student Early Decision Applications I can apply to the scholar programmes, but I must do so before November 1st. We strongly advise you to apply Regular Decision if your ability to enrol is contingent upon getting a specified amount of need-based financial aid or merit awards.
