Federal Government Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarship Awards 2024/2025

This is to inform the public that Mallam Adamu Adamu, the Honorable Minister of Education (H.M.E.), formally invites qualified Nigerians to apply for the 2024/2025 Federal Government Scholarship Awards.

This is for undergraduate (U.G.) studies tenable in Russia (for those whose first degrees were gotten from Russia), Chinese, Serbia, Hungary, and Romania.

Postgraduate (P.G.) studies tenable in Russia (applicants whose first degrees were gotten from Russia).

Federal Government BEA Scholarship Fields of Study

  • Undergraduate level – Engineering, Sciences, Agriculture, Geology, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Sports, Law, Social Sciences, Biotechnology, Architecture, Medicine (very limited), Pilot Engineering, Neurologist and
  •  Postgraduate level (Master’s Degree and PhD) in all fields.

Federal Government BEA Scholarship Criteria & Eligibility

  • All applicants for undergraduate degree programs must meet the minimum requirement of seven (7) Distinctions (As & Bs) in the S.S.C.E., WASSCE/WAC (May/June) solely in the relevant subjects.
  • For their academic courses, such as mathematics and English language. Certificates should not be older than two (2) years 2024/2025 for non-African countries;
  • For African nations, the certificate’s maximum age is one (1) year 2024. The age range is between 17 and 20.

Postgraduate Scholarships

  • All candidates for postgraduate degree programs must have a first degree with a First Class or at least a Second Class Upper Division.
  • All applicants must have finished the N.Y.S.C. program, and the maximum age for a Masters’s degree is 35 years old, and a PhD degree is 40 years old.
  • Only N.Y.S.C. discharge or exemption certificates are accepted, as well as employer-verified proof of the applicant’s readiness to be released.

Note

All Hungarian Scholarship applicants must visit the website, launched in the middle of November and will close on January 16, 2024, to submit an application for a maximum of two fields of study in the order of preference.

Since the B.E.A. countries do not speak English, applicants must be ready to enroll in a one-year foreign language course in their preferred country, which will serve as the primary teaching medium. Submit the online application.

All applicants must have received their first degree in Russia to be eligible for the Russian Postgraduate Scholarship;

Applicants must upload the following certifications online.UG (undergraduate): Postgraduate (P.G.) WAEC/WASSCE: First Degree Certificate, Masters Degree (WAEC/WASSCE), Indigene letter, and discharge certificate of N.Y.S.C. 

NB: Candidates who the Board has recommended must submit the following materials to the Federal Scholarship Board:

  • Academic transcripts that have been authenticated;
  • The data page of a current international passport;
  • Specific medical reports from public hospitals;
  • A birth certificate and an indigenous letter; and,
  • If necessary, a police clearance certificate.
