    What Are Facebook Events?

A Facebook event is a feature that allows users or page administrators to create a calendar-based invitation to a specific event.

A Facebook event can be sent to a specific group of people. It will include event information, the time and date of the event, and even images related to the event.

A Facebook event allows users to send invitations to their friends in a simple, hands-off manner. Because of Facebook’s interactive nature, a Facebook event can also help generate comments and buzz about a specific event.

Users can invite a specific group of people or their entire list of friends to Facebook events. In minutes, these invitations can reach thousands of people.

They also have an RSVP function that allows invitees to accept or decline the invitation.

This data is returned to the user who is hosting the event. If an invitee accepts an invitation, that person’s news feed is updated.

The event is also visible to the user’s friends in their events list under “Friends’ Events.”

    How to Create Facebook Events

If you have an event to promote, you should use your social currency to help spread the word and sell tickets.

Facebook is an excellent platform because it allows you to create your event fan page (for free) and reach out to the site’s two billion-plus members.

You can also create private event pages to invite only specific guests. Facebook has even added a live video feature that allows you to share your event with people who cannot attend.

How to Create an Event Using a Personal Facebook Profile

    • Log in to Facebook, then go to the ‘Events’ tab by clicking the Menu button in the top navigation bar. It should be the first option in the ‘Social’ section.
    • Select ‘Create event’ from the left-hand menu.
    • Choose whether you want to create an online or in-person event.
    • You can choose whether to create a public or private Facebook event in the left-hand sidebar. If you want to know how to change the privacy of a Facebook event, keep in mind that you can make a private event public, but a public event cannot be made private later.

How to Create Public Event on Facebook

Anyone, on or off Facebook, can see a public event. They can view the event description, photos, event discussion, and videos.

The event may also be found via search.

Now that you’ve decided to create a public event, you can fill in the blanks in the left sidebar.

    This includes details such as:

    • The title of your event
    • A photograph or video of the event
    • A specific location
    • The frequency (you have the option of setting up recurring Facebook events)
    • Your event’s date and time
    • Are there any co-hosts?
    • A URL for a ticket

Uncheck the box that says ‘Display guest list’ if you want to hide the guest list from the public or other people attending the event.

You can add SEO information to public Facebook events to help your event become more discoverable.

A category, description, and keywords are all included.

For example, if you’re hosting an online cooking workshop, you might include keywords like “cooking, “online,” and “workshop.” When someone searches for an ‘online cooking workshop,’ they may come across your event, increasing registrations.

If your event is taking place physically, include the location in your keywords, such as ‘San Francisco’ or ‘Ohio.’

When you’re finished, click ‘Create’ to create your event, or save it as a draft to return to later.

You can also select whether to host the event from your profile or a Facebook business page under ‘Event Host.’

How to Create Private Event on Facebook

Private events on Facebook are only visible to those who have been invited.

If the admin allows it, guests can invite all of their Facebook friends to an event, and those invited can view the event description, photos, posts, and videos.

You cannot share a private Facebook event; instead, you can only invite people to view it.

Not sure how to change the privacy settings on a Facebook event? Only a personal profile can create private Facebook events.

There is no way to make an event private if you create it from your Facebook business page.

Create a personal event by selecting ‘Private’ from the left sidebar and following the steps described above for public events.

How to Create a Facebook Event From a Facebook Business Page

Select the dropdown and select the business account if you want to host the event through your company. You can create an event directly from your Facebook business page by following the steps below.

To create a new public event on Facebook via a business page, follow these steps:

    Open your Facebook business page.

Select ‘Create Event’ from the dropdown next to ‘Share.’

Fill in the blanks with the event name, location, time, and description.

A recurring Facebook event can also be created. After entering all the necessary information, click ‘Schedule Multiple Events.’

Click the dropdown menu under ‘Frequency’ and select whether you want your event to happen daily or weekly.

You can also create a custom frequency by selecting your dates and clicking ‘Custom’ on the calendar.

How to Edit Your Facebook Event

Changing circumstances occur constantly, which may necessitate editing your event listing details.

To edit your event, go to the business or personal profile hosting it and look for ‘Events’ on the left-hand side.

This is your Facebook events manager, where you can see a list of your upcoming dates. To edit, share, or duplicate your event, use the dropdown next to each event.

    To add a new host:

Click the’ Events’ tab on the left-hand side of your profile or page.

Select ‘Edit,’ then navigate to the ‘Co-hosts’ section. You can add another host to your event by searching your friend’s list.

If you would like to add another host to your Facebook business event, do the following:

Open your business page and choose ‘Events’ from the left-hand menu.

Select ‘More’ and ‘Edit Event’ next to the event.

There is a field for co-hosts under ‘Options.’

Select ‘Save’ after searching for the people you want to add as co-hosts for your events.

Click the’ Events’ tab on the left-hand side of your profile or page.

Choose ‘Hosting’ from the menu on the left.

All your events will be listed under ‘Events You’re Hosting.’

If you’re wondering how to invite people to an event on Facebook, simply click ‘Share.’ It will also allow you to share it in Messenger or via the News Feed.

To share the link outside of Facebook, open the event in a browser and copy the URL from the address bar.

Alternatively, you can share directly from the event page by clicking the Share button at the top.

How to Cancel an Event on Facebook

It’s disheartening to cancel an event for any reason when a lot of planning has gone into it. Be it unfavourable weather or an unforeseen circumstance crops up.

If you created and invited people to your Facebook event, cancelling is a little easier. You can cancel the event directly from the event page with a few simple clicks.

You don’t even have to do the work of informing those you invited that the event has been cancelled; Facebook will do it for you.

When you cancel it, all of your guests will be notified.

However, if you are concerned that some of your potential guests will not see the notification, you should consider changing the name of your event before cancelling it.

Simply adding the words “Event canceled” before the original event name will notify anyone who attempts to access the page for event details of what has occurred.

Just ensure you do it first, as you cannot edit an event after it has been cancelled.

Here is how to cancel an event on Facebook.

Navigate to the Facebook page for your event.

Click “Edit” beneath the event’s title.

Click “Cancel Event” in the bottom left corner of the pop-up window.

Select the “Cancel Event” checkbox. You can also send a note to your guests explaining the cancellation — simply type the reason in the box provided.

Click “Confirm” to confirm the cancellation.

How to Delete an Event on Facebook

    Navigate to Facebook’s Events section.

In the left panel of your news feed, click Events. If you don’t see it, first click See More.

Open the event that you wish to cancel.

Determine whether the event should be cancelled or deleted.

Select Cancel Event from the More ••• menu. You’ll see two options in the resulting window:

Cancel Event: This option cancels the event and notifies all attendees of the change. You can also enter a message in the field to provide more information, such as your reason or potential future dates.

This event will still be visible in your calendar but will no longer be active.

Delete Event: This option deletes the event entirely from Facebook, removing it from all attendees’ calendars.

    Confirm your choice

To save your changes, click Confirm. The event will be cancelled or deleted as soon as you confirm.

    Conclusion

There you have it. Now, you understand how to delete an event on Facebook.
