Aim and Benefits of the World Bank Fellowships Program
For an 8-month fellowship (paid in monthly instalments), the RSMFP offers an attractive salary of $42,750 net of income taxes per fellow.
Because the fellows will be hosted at the World Bank in Washington, D.C., the World Bank’s Human Resources Operations unit will assist the selected candidates with their G4 visa application.
Requirements for World Bank Fellowships Program Qualification
Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for the RSMFP:
- Citizens of World Bank WBG member countries, with a bias for developing-country citizens;
- MA graduates or those currently pursuing a PhD in Economics or a comparable subject;
- No one under the age of 35 (by June 30th of the year the fellowship begins);
- You must be willing to relocate to Washington, D.C., for the term of the fellowship.
Interview date, Process and Venue for World Bank Fellowships Program
The RSMFP reviews submitted applications using the following method to identify suitable candidates with the most innovative and relevant research projects in the development field.
- Each eligible application is reviewed independently by two qualified reviewers who evaluate the following:
- The suggested fellowship’s quality (70%)
- Prospects for a fruitful post-PhD research career (30%)
- All criteria are strictly followed during the selection process. There are no exceptions. During an open call for applications, eligibility requirements WILL NOT CHANGE. This information, however, is subject to change between the completion of one application procedure and the start of the next.
