Thompson Rivers University Vantage Airport Group International Award 2027 | Study in Canada — Thompson Rivers University
Being sponsored by a private airport management company rather than drawn from the university’s own general scholarship budget gives the Vantage Airport Group International Award a distinctive external corporate funding source most peer awards don’t carry.
About the Scholarship
Thompson Rivers University’s Vantage Airport Group International Award is a competitive one-time award of $7,500 CAD for exceptional undergraduate international students, specifically sponsored by the Vantage Airport Group rather than drawn from TRU’s general scholarship budget. This corporate-sponsored funding source distinguishes it from many of the university’s other named academic awards.
Separately, TRU offers the Exceptional Student Award, providing up to $4,000 CAD for students at the bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD level, giving a broader range of academic levels access to this specific funding opportunity. The Academic Excellence Award grants $1,000 CAD per semester to qualifying students, while Engineering Scholarships provide $3,000 CAD over four semesters specifically for students in engineering programs.
Because TRU runs several genuinely distinct named awards across different academic levels and program areas, international applicants should research which specific scholarship aligns with their academic level and program before assuming any single award applies universally.
As a university located in Kamloops, British Columbia, Thompson Rivers University offers international students a smaller, close-knit campus community combined with particular strength in tourism management, business, and applied sciences, within British Columbia’s Interior region known for its distinctive semi-arid climate relative to the coastal Vancouver area.
