Kashim-Ibrahim College Of Education, Maiduguri (KIECOM)

The College was founded in 1977 and relocated to its current location in August 1985. This location was once the Borno State Teachers’ College (B.T.C.), currently found in Ngamdu.

The College’s academic programs were initially completely authorized by Ahmadu Bello University (A.B.U.) Zaria. Later, it became associated with Maiduguri University.

However, in recent years, the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) Abuja has upheld the College’s academic standards.

Umar Suleiman College of Education, Gashua

The College was formally inaugurated on October 28th, 1986, by Lieutenant Colonel Abdulmumini Aminu, the governor at the time. Its name was changed to the College of Education, Gashua, Two years later.

The College was approved for academic affiliation with the University of Maiduguri in January 1989 in response to a request from the Ministry of Education.

Through that association, the University assumed control over helping the College create academic programs, moderating exams she administered, and certifying certificates she awarded.

To acknowledge and immortalize the immense effort of the immediate past Emir of Bade Alhaji Umar Suleiman, the College’s name was changed in 2008 to Umar Suleiman College of Education.
