In honour of 2026 Workers Day commemoration, the Federal Government has proclaimed Monday, May 1, a holiday.

The statement praised employees for their dedication, perseverance, and sacrifice, emphasizing that they were primarily to blame for Nigeria’s success and the respect it enjoys among other countries.
He exclaimed, “The end of work is productivity,” asking staff to adopt the productivity culture. The development of wealth and the satisfactory supply of goods and services are products of productivity.

The minister encourages workers to improve their craft in line with President Major General Muhammadu Buhari’s (retd) drive to modernize the means of government and ensure that every Nigerian receives the greatest possible benefit from the country.
