The one-year program intends to establish a network of high-potential young Nigerians who will likely advance to top leadership positions in the public sector and other areas of endeavour over the following ten years.

KIF is a project of the Kaduna State Government (KDSG), which was established in 2018.

The Fellowship is named in honour of Sir Kashim Ibrahim, who served as the Northern Region’s first governor following independence from 1962 to 1966.

He was known for his passion for education and selfless leadership, which he demonstrated as Governor and Minister at various times.

Objectives of the KIF Programme

The programme’s objective is to develop and nurture leadership ability across Nigeria, specifically focusing on the promising leaders of the future.

  • The compensation and benefits offered to chosen candidates will be comparable to those of a Special Assistant to the Governor.
  • Accommodations: For the duration of the Fellowship, boarding (and breakfast) is offered in a tastefully equipped one-bedroom apartment.

How to apply for the KIF Programme

Please be aware that the Kashim Ibrahim Fellowship application procedure is entirely online. Both paper forms and application costs are not required.

  • Each applicant must submit an essay of up to 1000 words on the assigned topic.
  • Submit their Curriculum Vitae (maximum three pages)
  • Provide the details of two referees.
  • Write a Personal Statement stating your accomplishment and goals for the future.
