Candidates who want to study Animal Science and Production at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) are screened on three things: the O’Level subject combination, the four subjects written in JAMB, and two separate marks covering the UTME and the university’s own post-UTME exercise.
Agricultural Science carries real weight here. It is an accepted O’Level credit alongside Biology, and it appears again in the JAMB combination, which is not the case for every science course at the university.

UNIZIK Department Of Animal Science And Production Admission Requirements
O’level Subject Combination
Candidates must possess five (5) O’ level credits, including English Language, Maths, Chemistry, and Biology/Agricultural Science, in not more than two sittings. A pass in Maths may be considered if the candidate has a credit in Physics or vice versa.
The 5 credits must be obtained in not more than 2 sittings. A credit pass in Agricultural Science must be backed up with a pass in Biology.
Those last two clauses are the ones candidates misread. The list asks for a credit in Mathematics, but the waiver lets a pass in Maths stand where Physics carries a credit, and it works in the opposite direction too.
The Agricultural Science condition is separate. If you rely on it rather than Biology for the science credit, Biology must still appear on the result with a pass.
JAMB Subject Combinations
Candidates who wish to study Animal Science And Production at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) will write the following four (4) subjects in Jamb.
Use of English, Chemistry, Mathematics / Physics, and Agric Science
Use of English is compulsory and Chemistry is fixed. The third slot takes either Mathematics or Physics, so you are not forced into your weaker subject, and Agric Science fills the fourth.
