PEO International Peace Scholarship 2024/2025 for Women to Study in USA and Canada

P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship is a program that supports women’s aspirations; for selected women from other nations who choose to pursue graduate studies in the U.S. and Canada, the P.E.O. International Fund will offer scholarships. 

According to P.E.O. members, education is essential for promoting international harmony and understanding. The scholarship is awarded based on demonstrated need; however, it is not meant to pay for all living or academic costs.

About P.E.O. International Peace Scholarships

P.E.O. was founded on January 21, 1869, by seven students at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. This circle of kindred spirits – bonded by their enthusiasm for women’s opportunities – eventually expanded to include women off campus.

Through membership, the P.E.O. Sisterhood has brought together more than half a million women in the United States and Canada who are passionate about helping women advance through education while supporting and motivating them.

Aim and Benefits of P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship

• A student may get up to $12,500 in awards. Depending on each person’s needs, smaller sums may be given.
•  The scholarship is awarded based on demonstrable financial need; however, it is not meant to pay all living or other costs. The applicant must certify that she has additional financial means to cover her anticipated expenses at the time of application. Personal and family finances, tuition reimbursements, labour scholarships, assistantships in the classroom, study grants, and other scholarships are possible additional funding sources.
•  Awards are announced in May. The amount of the P.E.O. International scholarship will be divided into two payments to be distributed in August and December.

Requirements for P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship Qualification

• An applicant must meet the requirements for admission to full-time graduate study and be enrolled in an approved institution or university in the United States or Canada where they are studying toward a doctoral degree.
•  Citizens of the united states or legal residents of Canada who are Students are not eligible.
•  Scholarships are only given for research, internships, or practical training if combined with coursework. Awards are not to be used to pay past debts.
•  An applicant must be enrolled in school, be in residence for the entire academic year, and have one full year of coursework left to complete to be eligible for her first scholarship.
•  Doctoral candidates who have finished their studies and are just focusing on their dissertations are not eligible to apply for the first time.
•  Scholarship applications are accepted from international students enrolled at Cottey College.
